The Atlantic Rock have announced their final 26-man roster for the 2015 Canadian Rugby Championships.
The Newfoundland Rock and the Nova Scotia Keltics met at the Swilers Rugby Complex on Friday, competing in the senior men’s Atlantic League - leading up to the Canadian Rugby Championships in Calgary. The Rock defeated the Keltics 37-22. Both edged the New Brunswick Spruce in matches held in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The following day, Simon Blanks, coach of the Atlantic Rock, announced the final roster for the Atlantic Rock. The team consists of 14 forwards and 12 backs – 26 players in all. Seven non-traveling reserve players were also named. The team travels to Calgary to compete for the senior men’s Canadian Rugby Championship (CRC) on Sunday, June 28th. The Atlantic Rock play the Ontario Blues at 1:00 p.m. MDT while the Prairie Wolf Pack play the British Columbia Bears at 3:00 p.m. MDT. The losing teams will contest the 3rd/4th place game at 11:00 a.m. MDT while the top two teams play for the Canadian national senior men’s championship and the MacTier Cup at 1:00 p.m. MDT Wednesday, July 1.
