Four titles were decided on the final day of 2016 Canadian Rugby Championship presented by Fuelling Women Champions.
After sealing the Senior Women’s title yesterday, Quebec had the day off but British Columbia beat the Prairie Wolf Pack 35-10 and the Ontario Storm defeated Nova Scotia 51-0. Despite finishing tied on points, Quebec claimed the title due to their head-to-head record against Ontario, where Quebec won 46-24 on Day 4.
In the men’s U18 division, British Columbia won the title after posting a perfect 4-0 record. In the day’s play, Ontario beat the Wolf Pack 17-16 while Atlantic and Quebec drew 20-20.
BC would also claim the women’s U18 competition after a nervy 8-5 win over the Wolf Pack gave them top spot based on the head-to-head tiebreaker. In the day’s other game, Nova Scotia beat Quebec 29-18.
In the men’s U16 division, BC claimed a 31-24 win over Alberta in the final to take home the gold medal while Ontario beat Newfoundland 46-19 to win bronze.
In the women’s U16 competition, the Ontario Storm claimed gold after beating BC 17-10. Alberta won gold after beating New Brunswick 66-0.
